Bird Walk in Lancaster County

On Monday, November 11, the Northern Neck Audubon Society will conduct a bird walk at Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury (RWC) 132 Lancaster Drive, Irvington. Meet at the main parking lot in front of the RWC building at 9:00 a.m.

RWC is located on 165 acres which include wooded nature trails and a lovely lake. Possible sightings include hawks, kingfishers, wild turkeys, white-throated sparrows, bald eagles and warblers still migrating through. Located along the trails are three trees that are about 200 years old, a southern red oak, a mockernut hickory and a willow oak. There is also a shadblow serviceberry tree that is ranked #2 in size in Virginia.
Several pairs of loaner binoculars will be available.
